Personal Information: When you use our app, we may collect information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, email address, and device information.

Usage Data: We collect information on how you interact with our app, including notification preferences, feature usage, and app settings.

Location Data: If you opt in to Automatic Interruption Protection (Outing Guard), we use your device location to find nearby bars and pubs and to register local geofences around those places. This feature may request “When In Use” location and, to notify you when the app is closed, “Always” / background location. We use location for geofencing only — not continuous tracking, mapping of your movements, or advertising. Approximate coordinates may be sent to third-party map or place lookup services (such as OpenStreetMap Overpass on Android, or Apple MapKit on iOS) solely to download nearby venue information. Geofence state and related settings are stored on your device. Turning Protection off clears those geofences. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; without the required permission, Protection will not run.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Send notifications based on your preferences
• When you enable Automatic Interruption Protection, detect entry into nearby bar geofences during evening hours and send a local notification that opens the app so you can choose pacing tools yourself
• Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience
• Respond to your comments and questions

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. Your data is stored on secure servers and local device storage, and we use industry-standard security practices to maintain its confidentiality.

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Typical retention periods are:

• Account and personal information (such as name, email address, and device information): retained while your account is active. After you delete your account or submit a valid data removal request, we delete or anonymize this information within 30 days.
• Location and geofence data used for Automatic Interruption Protection: kept on your device while Protection is enabled. It is cleared when you turn Protection off, revoke location permission, or uninstall the app. We do not retain a continuous location history on our servers.
• Usage and analytics data: retained for up to 26 months, after which it is deleted or aggregated so it can no longer identify you.
• Support and contact emails: retained for up to 2 years after the last related correspondence, then deleted unless a longer retention period is required.
• Backups: residual copies may remain in backup systems for up to 90 days before being purged under normal backup rotation.

We may retain information for longer when necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

You can review and update your account information in the app settings. You can also adjust notification preferences or opt out of receiving notifications entirely. Location access for Automatic Interruption Protection is optional and off by default; you can disable Protection in the app or revoke location permission in your device settings at any time.

Under various privacy regulations, you have the right to request that we delete your personal information from our systems. To submit a data removal request:

We will process all data removal requests within 30 days and send a confirmation email when completed.
